He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata! He tangata! He tangata! —
(What is the most important thing in the world? Tis people! Tis people! Tis people!)
It is a privilege to be leading the School’s waka. As the whakataukī above states, people are the most important thing in the world through connected, empowered and collaborative relationships. Miramar Central is a great school with a rich cultural history, incredible children, amazing environment, quality education programmes and a dedicated and supportive staff, parent and BOT community. I feel privileged to serve this community as its Tumuaki.
I was born in Upper Hutt and have been teaching for 23 years. I live in the Eastern Suburbs with my wife Jenny and three children (Josh 23, Ben 21 and Abi 19). We have two springer spaniel dogs (Camo and Jazz) which you may see me walking most evenings. I love the great outdoors, especially fishing, diving, hunting; all sports and like to keep fit with swimming, running and cycling.
Teaching and learning is my core business and passion. I want to ensure children at Miramar Central know how to learn, are passionate and engaged life-long learners, confident in themselves, have a positive self-esteem, and are well prepared for the life ahead of them.
