GIFTED EDUCATION: MindPlus

The NZCGE (New Zealand Centre for Gifted Education) run a gifted education programme called MindPlus on site at Evans Bay Intermediate.  Miramar Central School has a policy and procedure for identifying Gifted and Talented children. A great deal of information is taken into consideration to see if a child should be recommended for the MindPlus programme.  All classes differentiate their learning programmes to enrich and empower all learners within the classroom setting.

"MindPlus is a programme for gifted 6-13 year olds that provides intellectual, creative, social and emotional learning and support. Children come together, with a specialist teacher, for one day each week. Together they engage in differentiated, strength-based learning experiences to further develop their gifts and talents and a greater understanding of themselves."
